I landed at 00:25 and didn’t go to sleep.

Instead, I started walking.

61 kilometers. 10 hours and 30 minutes from Kraków to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Alone, through the night and into the day, in a country I had never visited before.

I chose this path to reflect on Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning. Walking toward a place that represents the darkest chapter of human history puts everything into perspective. It forces you to think about what it means to be human, and what it means to be there for one another.

One thought kept returning: How can a generation as connected as ours still feel so profoundly alone?

I have done an 80km walk in Sweden before with this same question in mind. Different place, same thoughts. This sense of isolation is not local; it is a weight so many of us carry.

I’m sharing this not to highlight the walk, but to support the work of Mind. They work to ensure that even in our darkest hours, no one has to walk alone.

If you can, please consider supporting them.

Back to work. Trying, in small ways, working for a society where we look out for one another, and where no one feels lonley.
